  • Children’s medicine
  • Geriatric health
  • Minor surgical procedures

Lifestyle:

  • Chronic disease management
  • Immunizations and travel medicine
  • Quitting smoking
  • Cosmetic medicine

Workplace Medicals:

  • Workplace health and rehabilitation
  • Work cover
  • Driver’s license medical
  • Dive medicals
  • Aviation medicals

Allied health:

  • Psychology
  • Psychiatry
  • Naturopathy
  • Dietetics

  • Chiropractic

The benefit of having all of these different medicines under one roof means that all healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of a patient, can truly work together in giving the patient what they need to take care of and receive compassion for their physical and psychological health. This is the reason behind the name of the practice. The word Ubuntu is from South African culture and means: “A quality that includes the essential human virtues; Compassion and Humanity”.

Inside Ubunto Medical

Having done so well from the beginning, Ubuntu went through renovations and changes to help cater for the needs of the community. The centre in now larger and mediated by Psychologist Mark Korduba, son of the doctor who started it all.

I don’t believe that I can review Ubuntu Medical, rather share with you all that it has to offer. Medical treatment is obviously a very personal thing. I find that if you are able to access the sometimes many professionals required to care for your health under one roof, you should. It takes some of the stress out of things, which in turn helps you in managing a part of your health. Having to go from one place to another, especial in this busy age just isn’t realistic. The staff at Ubuntu will make sure you are well cared for and receive the best treatment possible.

Recently, Ubuntu welcomed a new member to their team of highly qualified staff, Doctor William Kuo. Dr Kuo is a General Practitioner with a special interest in Skin Cancer and also speaks fluent Chinese which is fantastic in our multicultural city. Here is the link to all of the Ubuntu staff. Get some information on who they are and what they do! http://ubuntumedical.com.au/our-staff/

Something else I find very refreshing for a medical practice is that they have a blog – http://ubuntumedical.com.au/blog/ – In today’s society, social networking with everyone in our lives has become such an important thing. To be able to keep up with what is happening within the local and wider medical world is absolutely perfect.

Again, I have to say how impressed I am with the fact that you can see a multitude of medical professionals under the one roof. I’ve had to deal with travelling from one health professional to another in the same day, sometimes fore than once, and it just add to the frustration of improving your physical and mental health.

I recommend you check Ubuntu Medical out, contact them or visit their website to see if they are able to help with your health needs. They are located at 239 Stafford Road, Brisbane 4053. Open Monday to Friday 9am until 6pm.
