Australian Tattoo Expo – Brisbane

This Friday, Saturday and Sunday Brisbane will host more than 250 Tattoo Artists at the Australian Tattoo Expo. If you’d have asked me a year ago if I was interested in attending, I would have laughed. Its not that I didn’t like tattoos, I think they’re stunning. Honestly, I was terrified of the permanence.

This weekend, I’m going in to hopefully find the right tattooist for me. Tattoos in mind that I know I will always love. Tattooing has been a part of so many cultures throughout history. As with anything it goes through phases of whats hot and whats not. It’s a very personal thing so it’s important that you find the right tattooist for you.

The Expo is a great way for the public to scope out the talent within the industry, whether it be to find the right person to create your masterpiece or just to admire their work. With more than 250 talented artists from all over the world, this is the perfect place for those who want to be introduced to this complex art-form and culture a well s for those already immersed in it.

If you’re after a tattoo on the weekend, there is the chance to book in with the artists, however its first in. with such a large number of attendees, the best option is to head to the artist pages HERE to book in, or book for after the expo.

It’s not just about getting the tattoos though. There is the chance to meet and talk with the artists as well as body piercing, tattoo competitions, live demos and even after dark Circus performances.

The Australian Tattoo Expo is a family event so children are welcome with kids under 12 free with a paying adult. Of course, no tattooing permitted under 18 years of age.

Doors open each day at 10am  at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Center and you can check HERE for timetables.

For more information on the event please head to www.tattooexpo.com.au

I’ll be back with an update on how the event was and hopefully, a tattoo!
