Did you know that there are an estimated 4.8 million pet dogs in Australia? We humans really do love these beautiful creatures. So, instead of just talking about human lifestyle, lets involve man’s best friend for this post. Below I’ve put together a list of some brands, products and places for you and your doggo to enjoy!
DIY Leather Bow Tie Dog Collar Kit – Moo & Twig
While this brand has a great range of custom hand-painted collars available, what’s more fun than creating your own unique design to really make your doggo (let’s be honest – it’s for your enjoyment) stand out.
‘Each kit contains everything you need to handcraft your best mates new neck bling:
2. Collar loop
3. Bow tie
4. Leather monogrammed tag with stainless steel plate
5. Assorted paintbrushes (3)
6. Paint pots – colours of your choice (4)
7. Leather sealant pot (1)
8. Instruction card
NOTE: The tag is hand painted and monogrammed by us and placed in your kit according to your customisation requests. If you would like us to leave the tag blank for you please select this option when checking out.
Each kit makes one (1) dog collar. Our leather collars are made from premium cow vegetable tanned leather and will be prepped and ready for you to start painting!’
This would be a fantastic gift idea for the artsy dog lover, or for a kid getting their first dog. Moo & Twig also have leashes, harnesses, doggo clothing and even a few cute dog themed items of women’s clothing. Check Moo & Twig out for yourself HERE!
Nudgee Off-Leash Dog Beach
This is one of my absolute favourite places! While we wait on the right doggo for us, we head to this beach for a coffee and a little ‘market research’. The dogs are so social and look so happy to be out enjoying a run on the beach a nice dip, and meeting some doggo friends. On the weekends there is always a coffee van Bean & Bark serving up delish drinks and they have a dog wash service set up. Perfect for washing off the post swim sand roll dogs seem to enjoy!
Dog Friendly Pure Soy Candles – Cider & Basil
When I first saw that these candles were ‘dog-friendly’, I didn’t get it. The thing is though, we consider the things that may be harmful for us to breathe in, but what about dogs? Animals can be just as sensitive, if not more so, to things we bring into our environment. And there is always the chance that a candle drops and somedogggo will think it’s food.
These dog-friendly candles are free from harmful ingredients, made of soy wax and are hand poured. There are 3 delish scents available as well as a huge salon-like range of products for your furry friend. Check out the Cider & Basil about page HERE to see how this brand got its start.
Kedron Brook Floodway Dog Walk
This is an amazing area. It takes up quite a few kilometres on the North side of Brisbane, but my absolute favourite spot is Gordon Park. There is a hug off-leash area for dogs and their humans on one side of the water, and bike paths on the other. There are always families there exploring the rocks and water, dogs losing their minds diving for sticks and a whole lot of people there just to soak up the environment.
While you’re there, be sure to check out Marche Du Macaron. Devine macarons, the best Iced Chai (blended) and even bakery-made dog treats.
The best way to get more information on the Kedron Brook Floodway is to check out the Brisbane City Council site or better yet, go for a drive or walk!
