Secret Ingredients for Sensitive Skin

There are so many ‘Top’ ingredients in skincare today, it can be hard to know what to look for. When it comes to winter, skincare routines can require a little of a shake up to combat the changes. With cold air, it’s easy to get dry skin before you get a chance to do anything about it. Below are two amazing ingredients that’s are great for both winter and sensitive skin.

Rice Extract

If you’ve ever looked into Korean or Japanese skincare, you’ll know that rice has been used in many forms for thousands of years. Rice is rich in amino acids, vitamin E, ferulic acid and is scientifically proven to have anti-inflammatory properties. Rice Extract is an amazingly rich moisturiser perfect for those who suffer with dry and sensitive skin.

Cotton Extract

Cotton is another great ingredient for sensitive skin as it’s also full of anti-inflammatory properties Vitamin E and Omega-3 fatty acids, which help to reduce redness and calm the skin. It helps to replenish and soften the skins outer layer and minimize the effects of potential irritants.

This brings me to the 2 products I’ve incorporated into my Winter skincare routine. The Burt’s Bees Sensitive Day and Night Cream. These products contain both Rice and Cotton Extract as well as Sunflower Oil, Shea Butter, Aloe, Jojoba and more. All of these ingredients together create the most beautiful creams to sooth and protect the skin against the elements and free radicals.

While I already have a skincare routine in place, I find that I need to add something a little more when the weather changes. I usually stick with a super thin moisturiser but adding these creams was essential. They’re not heavy on the skin, but are definitely a little richer which has really helped keep my skin from feeling wind burnt and getting extremely red and itchy.

Along with the Day and Night Creams, the Sensitive range also contain a cleanser, eye cream and facial towelettes with the same great ingredients. Click HERE to check out the entire range.
