Liquid Matte has been on trend for a few years now, but we’re beginning to see the return of gloss and a more natural look. The one think that hasn’t changed is the need for the perfect Nude Lip Colour. Nudes are amazingly versatile for any look, great for basic everyday wear or paired with a dramatic or dark eye look.
‘While a bold lip can be a confidence booster for social gatherings—the nude lip is also a great option for a timeless and seductive look. It has become a signature amongst celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Megan Markle. Experts say the trick to the perfect nude pout is finding a colour that has enough contrast between the skin surrounding your mouth and your lips. This could be blushy, peachy and coral hues, or caramel and ochre colours to bring out this contrast, depending on your skin.’
Burt’s Bees have 2 great ranges with amazing colours available, making it easy to get the perfect nude lip while using a natural product in recyclable packaging.
Burt’s Bees Gloss Lip Crayons
These chubby Lip Crayons are made from 100% Natural ingredients including Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil and Kendi Oil to nourish and protect the lips. They provide a medium to full coverage colour with 8-hour moisture, working like a balm while also looking great. These beautiful crayons glide on easily and the colour payoff is great with only a couple of swipes. Definitely the kind of lip colour you can apply without a mirror when you’re on the go. They’re in a twist up crayon so no need to sharpen either. The Gloss Lip Crayon comes in 6 shades from very pale pink to a deep mauve, making these a great option for all skin tones.
The Colours I tried:
Outback Oasis – a pale nude with pink undertones
Santorini Sunrise – a terracotta nude
I’m quite fair with neutral undertones so I found both worked for me. I recommend Outback Oasis for only the fairest of complexions.
Burt’s Bees Satin Lipsticks
This is a natural satin, slightly matte formula, so it glides on smoothly and lasts longer without drying down. It leaves a slight shine but looks stunning. Again, 100% Natural and containing Moringa Oil, Raspberry Seed Oil and Vitamin E. The stylish Square Packaging is made from 60% recycled materials. I’m a huge fan of the packaging because it’s extremely light but the cap stays secure so no worries about ruining a bag when out and about. The Satin Lipstick comes in 18 shades including nudes, corals, pinks, mauves and reds!
The 2 Colours I tried from this collection are:
Nile Nude – a pale orange/brown nude
Blush Basin – I light neutral pink nude – this was my favourite of the products.
